Roberto Falck is a freelance photographer working in New York City. He started his career back in 1992 when studying at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. He took a introductory black and white photography class, and since then he hasn't stop learning about the medium. Mostly self taught, he has developed an eye for design and color that takes part in all his work.
The love for traveling has taken his photography out on the road, capturing images of people and places that cross his way. In an effort to capture the essence of these new places he concentrates in the people and their cultural uniqueness, paying close attention to the colors, forms and moments that each one of them has. Some of the places that he has visited in his journey are Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Spain, Thailand, Egypt, and Jordan
He worked as an assistant to a variety of commercial photographers in New York City, which was his school to learn many of the technical and business aspects of the trade.
While working as an assistant he started working for several publications in the city.
Some of his clients have been Time Out New York, Latina Magazine, and Columbia University to name a few.
Today he keeps on working mostly on his own projects, but is able to take assignments per request.
He is available for hire for advertising, editorial and events. He specializes in travel photography, adventure photography, events and wedding photography.
For many years Roberto has traveled the world capturing images from a number of places and a variety of cultures.
These places range from big metropolises like New York, Mexico City, London or Madrid to hidden corners of the world
like Petra in Jordan, Iguasu or Perito Moreno in Argentina, or the "grutas de Cacahuamilpa" in Mexico. Longing to
learn more about his home continent and their cultures, he has made Latin America his prime target for travels of the past few years.
He has done extensive work in Ecuador, Brazil, Cuba, Peru, Argentina, and Mexico.
Born in Ecuador, he learned about the beauty and the importance of nature and the connection that people need
to have with it. "Traveling within Ecuador was the first step to discover the rest of the world..."
Regardless of his travels and his love for seeing new places, photography is not only about the travels.
He simply loves the medium. "It's about the images...the form, the light, the color that inspire an endless
number of feelings within one self, all those feelings are the result of that unique spark; the one that goes in through the eyes.. "
Commercial photography has been the focus of his career. It has made him a better photographer because he can see what other people need and want.
Doing editorial photography and wedding photography has made him grow as an artist and a communicator.
His work is available as stock photography for use in advertising, editorial or educational publications.
