Rachel Elkind and I are  grateful for the amazing collaboration with Disney-Hyperion on a book cover project.

Jennifer Donnelly, best selling author created an epic mermaid adventure deep beneath the sea. We were honored to help bring to life her vision of Nila, the main character.  We photographed in a pool with the help of a great crew. The dress was inspired by Steve McQueen, and designed by Don Sumada .  Shane Rebenschied, an incredible illustrator brought the cover to life.

Joanne Hill of Disney was the creative director and visionary of the project.  Our beautiful models Caitlin and Jitka were troopers spending hours in the water with us.  Nicole Sciarrillo of the Brooklyn synchronized swimming group;  the Brooklyn Peaches helped test the tail.
