This past Saturday I photographed my first Indian wedding, and let me tell you I had such a great time.
Out of all the ceremonies that I have been to I think the Indian ceremonies are the most “down to earth” literally ;). I just liked how the ceremony revolves around all the elements in nature… water, fire, earth, food.
Even though I wasn’t paying full attention to what the officiant was explaining (because I have to pay attention to my surroundings 😉 ) I just felt a warm feeling from the entire event.
It was a fun day overall. It started at a cool hair salon in Williamsburg, The Beehive, where I met Anjali for her preparation ritual and it continued to Prospect Park. the ceremony took place outside of the Picnic house.
Jennifer, my assistant, got together with Chris at the Marriott hotel to take some photos of him and his family.
The day was a bit gray, threatening to rain, but it held up, turning into a great day to photograph.
A few of the guests were great artist who performed for the couple. A couple of piano players and an incredible violinist. The day went by so quickly and before I know it it was time to pack up. (That’s when I know that I had a fun day !!)
Here are some of the photos from the day:
Here is a slideshow of some more photos…. enjoy.
