Rachel here…and I am in Ecuador with a group called “Dando Amor” which means giving love. Our goal is to help make life better for children in orphanages. Most kids are there because of abuse, neglect, abandonment, or poverty.
This is my second trip this year and seeing what changes can happen once we commit time, funds and love is very rewarding. With the generous donations people have made, we have been able to buy food, utensils, and warm clothes for damp nights (there is no heat).
We have bought beds, cribs, clean mattresses and pillows so that kids are not sleeping 2 or 3 in one bed. We have repaired roofs, built rooms, painted walls and fixed bathrooms. We have done alot…and there is sooo much more to do. If you were there you would find it as heart breaking as I have.
